King Slik

  • What is your name and what city do you rep? I'm King Slik but everybody calls me Slik Nation and I represent Birmingham, AL BORN AND RAISED
  • What is unique about you and your music? I make Elevator Music it's the music that takes you all the way upWhat shaped your music? I listened to a lot of Kid Cudi, Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane and Kanye West growing up but I also loved listening a lot of rock and metal like 3 Days Grace, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, etc. Ozzy Osborne and the John Lennon are some artists I look up to.
  • When did you realize you were going to make music professionally? In 2016, I decided to start putting my music out to the public. It wasn't until I met Nash B that I started taking music more seriously as a business.
  • What kind of music do you listen to? I listen to anything that sounds good to me. EDM, Rap, Rock, R&B. The only country I'll listen to is Willie Nelson though.
  • Who, to you, is the most undervalued music artist? King Slik
  • How do you prepare for your performances? Usually I do drugs, listen to the songs I'm doing then just go out and ride my vibe
  • What ignites your (song) writing flow? Life is the biggest influence of my music just what I'm going through, the energies around me feed my own and weed too
  • What do you do when you don't do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about? I love to take and edit pictures whenever I'm not doing music. Businesses, people, all of it.
  • Success to you is... Success to me is achieving everything the universe has laid out for me and not missing an opportunity.
  • What do you wish you were told when you first started rapping that you think would help anyone recently starting artists out?Keep making YOUR music no matter what. The videos are cool. Social media is fake. But your craft is the only thing that makes you you.
  • Any upcoming projects? My newest single "Sweet Potato Pie" will be dropping next month. My 5th edition of The Chronicles of Gravity Starskipper will be dropping later this year also. Date TBA.
  • You can find my music on all platforms. Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play, Tidal, SoundCloud, and YouTube. Make sure to check out my latest tape "C4" on iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify. My latest music video for "Cold Soup" and "Paradise Pkwy" are on YouTube, also.
